Overview

Zombies have been reworked into just about every gaming genre by now, and fresh takes are getting harder to find. This one leans into puzzle and arcade mechanics rather than straightforward combat. Instead of running through streets fighting off the undead, your job is to clear designated areas using a single weapon. That weapon can do a lot of damage to the surroundings if you're careless with it, but that's secondary to the main task: wiping out every zombie before more brains get eaten.

Gameplay and Experience

Hit Em Up puts you in control of a soldier clearing zombie-filled areas with the mouse. Moving the cursor up or down adjusts your aim, and a left-click fires. A counter at the top of the screen shows how many zombies remain, while the weapon itself displays your remaining shots. You must clear every zombie before your shots run out, or you'll have to restart the level. A map screen lets you pick from levels that open up as you progress. Each level drops your soldier into a self-contained space filled with zombies scattered around. He fires explosive metal balls that detonate after a short delay, and those explosions can kill zombies or send crates and other loose items flying. You can use these moving objects to bounce your explosives into harder-to-reach spots. Fewer shots used means a better final score.

Controls

Aiming is handled by moving the mouse cursor up and down, with the left mouse button used to fire. The interface keeps track of both the remaining zombie count and your leftover shots throughout each attempt.

How to Play

Each round starts from a level-select map, with new levels unlocking as earlier ones are finished. Once inside a level, you aim and fire from a fixed position, trying to eliminate every zombie in the area before your ammunition runs out.

Features

This is the official GamePix HTML5 build, built with a responsive layout for mobile, tablet, and desktop. It supports touch controls as well as keyboard or mouse input, and includes landscape orientation support.

Tips and Tricks

Think of your shots and the level's physical objects as puzzle pieces. The explosive balls travel in arcs, bounce off surfaces, and keep rolling as long as they have momentum, so plan your shots around the trickiest zombie placements rather than firing blindly.

It's a responsive HTML5 game that ranks well within GamePix's quality and popularity listings, playable with either touch or desktop controls.
